Dispute Resolution
The Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975 allows certain classes of relative or other dependant to make a claim against the estate of the deceased if inadequate or no provision has been made in the Will for them. We can advise you whether you come within the class of persons who can make a claim and whether it might be worth your while. We can also advise about how to protect your estate from unwanted claims if you are a making a Will.
Quite often disputes are settled before they reach the Court and disposed of by an agreed variation of the Will.
